Roelofarendsveen: an undiscovered town where there is plenty to do.
Roelofarendsveen is a town in the province of Zuid-Holland, located in the municipality of Kaag en Braassem. The town is located on the Braassemermeer, a popular area for water sports activities, such as sailing and boating.
The tulip town
Did you know that 25% of all tulips produced in The Netherlands come from Roelofarendsveen? That explains why there is a huge tulip on the water tower in the middle of the town. The water tower has been recreated at the Tulpenacker park and the tulip plays a role in our logo.
The polders of Roelofarendsveen
Cruise the well–known Tulpenroute. This route tells you more about the history of the town and the tulip with the help of information signs. The polders of Roelofarendsveen are ideal to go through by boat. Whisper boats can be rented at the Tulpenacker.
It is also possible to go out for a day with the whisper boats. Do you want to go to the Braassemermeer from the polders? Then you have to go through boat locks. The boat lock on the Noordkade is manually operated and a real experience. Rent a boat all day from the Tulpenacker and enjoy yourself on the water.
Food & drinks
Of course, between all the activities you also have to eat and drink. Luckily, Roelofarendsveen also has a lot to offer with regard to catering establishments.
